When I was in elementary school, I once caught a strange creature that wasn’t a fish while fishing.
When I tried to remove the hook from it, I was pricked by its spines, and it hurt quite a bit. Later, I looked it up in a picture book and found out it was a sea worm.
小学生の頃、釣りをしていた時、魚ではない変な生き物を釣ったことがあります。
この生き物から釣り針を外そうとした時、この生き物の棘に刺されてしまい、痛い目に会いました。のちに図鑑で調べるとウミケムシだったことが分かりました。
Sea worms are polychaetes, a type of worm, and are about 13 centimeters long. Worms and earthworms are in the same family, but earthworms don’t have hairs, so they are called oligochaetes.
Sea worms live in relatively warm seas. During the day, they burrow into the sand on the seabed and live quietly, but at night they swim around in the ocean in search of food. Like worms, they swim fast and prey on zooplankton.
ウミケムシはゴカイの仲間の多毛類で体長は13センチくらいの大きさです。ゴカイとミミズは同じ仲間ですがミミズは毛がないので貧毛類と言います。
ウミケムシは比較的暖かい海に生息しています。日中は海底の砂に潜りひっそりと生活していますが、夜になるとエサを求め海中を泳ぎ回ります。ゴカイとしては魚のように早く泳ぎ、動物性プランクトンを捕食します。
Sea worms have countless stiff, glass-like hairs on their bodies, and these are venomous and can pierce the skin. If you are stung by a sea worm, do not rub the affected area; instead, remove the hairs with cellophane tape.
Even after removing the hairs, the venom remains in the body, so don’t assume everything is fine; proper follow-up treatment is essential. If there is swelling, go to the hospital.
ウミケムシの体はガラス繊維のような剛毛が無数にあります、しかも毒があり皮膚に突き刺さってしまいます。もしウミケムシに刺されたら、刺された箇所は擦らず、セロハンテープで剛毛を取り除きます。
この剛毛は抜いても体内に毒が残るため、抜いて良かったと安心せずにその後の処置を必ず適切に行う必要があります。もし腫れているなら病院へ行来ましょう
